Direct Vehicle Purchase and Sale Terms and Conditions

Effective date: November 2026
Last updated: November 2026

  1. Purpose and scope

These Direct Vehicle Purchase and Sale Terms (“Direct Transaction Terms”) apply where Rintes UK expressly agrees to purchase a vehicle or other eligible asset from a customer, or sells a vehicle or asset as the contracting seller.

They do not automatically apply to transactions between independent buyers and sellers who advertise through the Rintes UK marketplace.

In these terms, “Rintes UK”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the legal entity named in the relevant purchase offer, order confirmation or sale agreement.

The specific transaction documents, including any written offer, invoice, condition report or signed agreement, will set out the agreed asset, price and transaction conditions. If a transaction document conflicts with these terms, the documents should be read together, and any express order of precedence in the transaction agreement will apply, subject to mandatory law.

  1. Identifying the contracting party

Before committing to a transaction, the customer should confirm whether Rintes UK is:

  • Purchasing an asset directly from the customer.
  • Selling an asset owned by Rintes UK.
  • Acting as an intermediary or sourcing agent.
  • Merely hosting an advertisement for an independent seller.

The relevant written offer, invoice or agreement will identify the contracting party. Rintes UK will not be treated as the seller of an independent marketplace listing merely because the listing appears on www.rintes.uk.

  1. Direct purchase requests

3.1. A customer wishing to sell an asset directly to Rintes UK may submit an enquiry with relevant information, including make, model, year, condition, mileage or usage, location, photographs and available documentation.

3.2. An enquiry, estimate, indicative valuation or preliminary discussion is not a binding offer to purchase unless expressly stated in writing.

3.3. Rintes UK may request additional information, documents, photographs or an inspection before making an offer.

3.4. Rintes UK may decline a purchase request at its discretion, subject to applicable law and any binding commitment already made.

  1. Purchase offers and acceptance

4.1. A written purchase offer should identify the asset, offered price, any conditions, required documents and the period during which the offer remains open.

4.2. An offer is accepted only in the manner specified in the offer or otherwise confirmed in writing by Rintes UK.

4.3. If the asset’s condition, ownership, specifications or documentation materially differ from the information supplied, Rintes UK may seek to revise or withdraw an offer before a binding purchase agreement is concluded, subject to applicable law and the terms of any existing agreement.

4.4. Any revised price or material change must be communicated to the customer for agreement. Rintes UK will not treat silence as acceptance of a revised offer.

  1. Seller’s declarations and responsibilities

When selling an asset directly to Rintes UK, the seller must:

  • Have legal ownership of the asset or full authority to sell it.
  • Provide accurate information about its identity, condition, mileage or usage, ownership and history.
  • Disclose known material defects, significant damage, modifications, finance arrangements, title restrictions or other matters affecting the sale.
  • Provide authentic documents and information requested for lawful verification and transfer.
  • Disclose any third-party rights, liens or interests that could prevent a valid transfer.
  • Inform Rintes UK of any change affecting the asset or transaction before completion.

The seller must not knowingly provide false information, conceal material facts or present an asset for sale in circumstances that would make the transaction unlawful.

  1. Inspection and verification

6.1. Rintes UK may arrange a physical inspection, independent assessment, document review or other verification before completing a purchase.

6.2. An inspection or assessment may not identify every defect or issue. The scope and limitations of any inspection should be stated in the relevant report or agreement.

6.3. Any price conditional on an inspection or verification remains subject to the conditions clearly stated in the offer.

6.4. No inspection, valuation or preliminary estimate should be understood as a guarantee of future performance unless an express written warranty is provided.

  1. Purchase price and payment

7.1. The agreed purchase price and currency will be stated in the written purchase agreement.

7.2. The agreement will specify the payment method, payment deadline and any conditions that must be satisfied before payment.

7.3. Payment will be made to the person or account identified in the transaction documents. Customers should independently verify any changed bank details before transferring funds.

7.4. Any deposit, deduction, outstanding finance settlement, collection charge or other adjustment must be agreed and documented before it is applied.

7.5. Rintes UK will not make an undisclosed deduction from an agreed price.

7.6. The seller must disclose any finance or other secured interest affecting the asset. Completion may be conditional on the relevant interest being discharged or dealt with through an agreed and lawful process.

  1. Collection and transfer of ownership

8.1. The agreement will specify who is responsible for collection, transport, insurance during transit and associated costs.

8.2. The parties must cooperate to complete the required ownership, registration and transfer documentation.

8.3. Physical delivery, payment, transfer of legal title and transfer of risk may occur at different times depending on the agreement and applicable law. The transaction documents should expressly state the intended arrangements.

8.4. No party should assume that handing over keys or documents alone completes every legal requirement.

  1. Direct sales by Rintes UK

Where Rintes UK sells an asset as the contracting seller:

9.1. The sales agreement or invoice will identify the asset, price, payment arrangements and any agreed delivery or collection conditions.

9.2. The asset’s description, known condition, material qualifications and any express warranty or after-sales arrangement will be communicated in the listing or transaction documents, as appropriate.

9.3. Buyers should review the description and any condition report and ask questions before committing to a purchase.

9.4. Any agreed warranty is additional to, and does not replace, statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9.5. Where a buyer qualifies as a consumer, Rintes UK will comply with applicable consumer protection legislation, including relevant requirements relating to conformity, descriptions, remedies, cancellation and refunds.

9.6. If the sale is concluded at a distance or away from business premises, statutory cancellation rights may apply unless a lawful exception applies. The applicable cancellation information will be provided as required.

9.7. If the buyer is acting for business purposes, different contractual rules may apply, subject to applicable law and the agreement.

  1. Cancellation and termination

10.1. A transaction may be cancelled or terminated in accordance with its written terms and applicable law.

10.2. Any cancellation charge must have a lawful basis and be disclosed or agreed as required.

10.3. Nothing in these terms removes statutory cancellation rights, consumer remedies or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10.4. If a party materially breaches the agreement, the other party may exercise the remedies available under the agreement and applicable law.

  1. Fraud and compliance

Rintes UK may request reasonable identity, ownership, payment or transaction information to prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations or assess the legitimacy of a proposed transaction.

We may suspend or decline a transaction where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, unlawful activity, sanctions restrictions, ownership concerns or material discrepancies, subject to applicable law and any contractual obligations.

  1. Personal information

Personal information supplied during a purchase or sale will be handled in accordance with the Rintes UK Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Information may be shared with relevant professional advisers, payment providers, transport providers, verification services or public authorities where necessary and lawful to complete or administer the transaction.

  1. Liability and statutory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where such exclusion or restriction is unlawful.

In particular, nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, removes mandatory consumer rights or limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Any limitation of liability in a specific transaction agreement must be fair, transparent and legally enforceable.

  1. Complaints and disputes

Customers should first contact Rintes UK at sales@rintes.uk, quoting the relevant transaction or invoice reference and explaining the issue.

We will review the complaint and respond within a reasonable period. This procedure does not prevent a customer from exercising statutory rights or using any dispute-resolution route available under applicable law.

  1. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply based on the customer’s circumstances or location.
