RINTES UK

ONLINE MARKETPLACE — TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

  1. About Rintes UK

Rintes UK operates an online marketplace that enables private individuals, motor dealers, businesses, boat owners and other authorised sellers to advertise vehicles, boats and associated equipment for sale.

The platform supports listings across a broad range of categories, including cars, vans, trucks, motorcycles, motorhomes, caravans, agricultural machinery, construction and plant equipment, commercial vehicles, boats and other marine craft.

Rintes UK is based in Margate, Kent, England, United Kingdom.

The primary purpose of the marketplace is to connect buyers with independent sellers and provide a platform through which users can discover vehicles, boats and equipment, review advertisements and contact sellers.

In addition to its marketplace operations, Rintes UK may separately provide vehicle sourcing, direct vehicle or boat purchases, Resale, Buy for you, Transportation, Shipping and Export-related services. These additional services are governed by the specific terms, quotations or agreements applicable to each transaction.

  1. Rintes UK’s Role as Marketplace Operator

Unless expressly identified as the seller in a particular transaction, Rintes UK acts as the operator of an online advertising and marketplace platform.

Vehicles, boats and equipment advertised by third-party users remain the responsibility of the respective advertisers and sellers.

Rintes UK does not automatically own, possess, inspect, sell, warrant or guarantee the items advertised by third parties.

When a buyer purchases an item directly from an independent seller, the sale contract is between that buyer and the seller, not Rintes UK.

Rintes UK is not responsible for performing the seller’s contractual obligations merely because the advertisement appears on the platform. However, nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes responsibilities that Rintes UK has expressly accepted or that are imposed on it by applicable law.

  1. Independent Sellers and Advertisers

The marketplace may be used by:

  • Private sellers: individuals selling their own vehicles, boats or equipment outside their trade or business.
  • Trade sellers and dealers: motor dealers, boat dealers, traders and businesses selling in the course of their commercial activities.
  • Authorised business representatives: individuals or businesses authorised to advertise items on behalf of an owner or business, where permitted by Rintes UK’s listing rules and applicable law.

Every advertiser must accurately identify their seller status and must have the legal right or appropriate authority to advertise the item.

Trade sellers must not misrepresent themselves as private sellers. Rintes UK may request evidence of seller identity, business status, ownership or authority to advertise and may amend, suspend or remove listings where reasonably necessary.

  1. Advertisements and Seller Responsibilities

Each seller is responsible for ensuring that their advertisement is truthful, accurate, current and compliant with applicable law.

This includes the accuracy of the item’s description, price, photographs, condition, mileage or operating hours, ownership status, history, specifications and availability.

Sellers must disclose material defects and other information required by law. They must not advertise stolen property, misrepresent an item’s identity or condition, or publish an item they have no right to sell.

Rintes UK may review advertisements, investigate complaints and remove listings that breach these Terms and Conditions. However, moderation does not constitute a guarantee that an advertisement has been independently verified.

  1. Buyers and Transactions

Buyers are responsible for conducting appropriate due diligence before purchasing an item advertised on Rintes UK, unless Rintes UK’s “Buying for you” service is purchased by the customer.

Unless the listing expressly states otherwise, buyers should direct questions concerning the item’s condition, ownership, availability, payment and sale arrangements to the relevant seller.

Buyers and sellers are responsible for agreeing their sale terms, including the purchase price, payment method, collection or delivery, transfer of ownership and any applicable warranty.

Where the seller is a business or trader, applicable consumer protection obligations remain the seller’s responsibility, subject to the particular circumstances and applicable law.

  1. Separate Services Provided by Rintes UK

Rintes UK may offer additional services, including:

  • Purchasing vehicles, boats and equipment directly from owners or businesses.
  • Selling vehicles, boats and equipment owned or offered for sale by Rintes UK.
  • Helping customers source particular vehicles or boats.
  • Arranging domestic and international shipping.
  • Coordinating collection, transportation, freight forwarding and export-related logistics.

When Rintes UK participates directly in a purchase, sale or service contract, its role and obligations will be specified in the relevant written agreement, quotation, invoice or order confirmation.

The marketplace provisions do not replace the specific contractual terms applicable to those separate services.

  1. Shipping and Export Services

Rintes UK may assist buyers, sellers and other customers with the transportation and international shipment of vehicles, boats and equipment.

Shipping arrangements are subject to the relevant quotation and shipping agreement, including the agreed route, price, collection and delivery arrangements, insurance provisions, documentation requirements and applicable customs procedures.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the appearance of an item on the Rintes UK marketplace does not mean that shipping, insurance, customs clearance or export documentation is included in its advertised price.

The parties’ responsibilities for transportation, export and import requirements will be specified in the applicable agreement.

  1. No Automatic Guarantee by Rintes UK

The publication of an advertisement does not mean that Rintes UK endorses the seller, certifies the item’s condition or guarantees the completion of a transaction.

Buyers should independently verify relevant information and take reasonable precautions against fraud.

Rintes UK will take appropriate action when it identifies or receives credible reports of suspected fraudulent listings, subject to its policies, available information and applicable law.

Nothing in this section limits any legal obligation that Rintes UK itself owes to a user.

  1. Applicable Terms

These marketplace Terms and Conditions govern use of the website and its advertising facilities.

Additional terms may apply to account registration, paid advertisements, direct purchases, direct sales, shipping and export services, privacy and cookies.

Where Rintes UK enters into a separate contract with a customer, that contract must be read alongside these marketplace Terms and Conditions.

The applicable provisions of UK law and any non-excludable consumer rights will continue to apply.
